Billy Elliot

This film tells the story of a tenacious boy, called Billy Elliot, who lived in England in a period of mining strikes. This boy has a very dictatorial father who wants him to become a good boxer. Therefore, his father, Jackie Elliot, had Billy attend to boxing lessons. However, the place of these lessons were done in a big Gym along with ballet lessons. Billy felt completely frustrated since he is not good at hitting at all; besides he disliked to fight or commit any violent action. Then, he got interested in the Ballet lessons until one day he chose to take Ballet lessons which he considered very exciting and wonderful.

Yet, when his father realized he was attending to a Ballet class, he got upset while Billy's older brother laughed at him. After realizing Billy preferred dancing instead of boxing, Jackie and his son argued a lot. They could not see eye to eye to each other. By one hand, Jackie thought dancing is just a n activity done by girls and it is not masculine at all. By the other hand, Billy said dancing is art and he was born to dance Ballet. Nevertheless, in spite of their disagreements, Jackie noticed his son was a very skilled person who only wanted to fullfil his dreams and become a professional Ballet dancer.

Plagiarism

Plagiarism was a micro-teaching done by Denisse Tapia in which she spoke very well. She has a very good pronunciation and fluency. Her micro-lesson was completely clear, I could understand everything she explained since she created a nice ppt presentation with lots of colorful pictures and just the necessary amount of information (three lines per slide).

Nevertheless, Denisse passed the limit of time and she could not finish the activity she prepared for us which is not good. Although she explained concepts very clearly, she talked too much. It was a lot of information for a micro-teaching. I can suggest she pays attention to the time for the next time she presents and she also must manage the information in a more structured way. She did it well and her micro-lesson was a good job.

What is real? How do you define real?

Renato Cares presented this micro-lesson which was really interesting and motivating. I was very interested in this topic which remarked some concepts like Buddhism, Illusionism and Reality. It was fantastic, I like these kinds of topics that make us discuss and think a lot. Renato's micro-lesson was clear, concise and strongly fruitful since I learned very deep and significant things.

Concerning the weaknesses of this micro-teaching, I can say that Renato was quite serios when speaking and he also passed the limit of time since the activity took too long. I suggest that he pay attention to the time and also train his voice proyection. Next time I know he will be capable of covering all these aspects since he is a very creative and clever person.

Radio-Drama

This micro-teaching presented by Pia Bascuñana was really authentic. I liked it a lot because I noticed she put much enthusiasm and dedication to her ppt presentation. Besides, I can say that this micro-teaching was one of the most creative that I have ever seen before.

However, I noticed that Pia talked too much and I know that any classmate would agree with me. I think she must take into account that micro-teachings are not lecturettes; therefore she has to explain just the necessary information to the class and make us participate more. Moreover, she does not have forget to adjust her micro-teaching to the time (no more than 20 minutes).
